The successful candidate will be working in the Risk department at Jefferies. The Risk department is responsible for providing risk oversight of and analysis for the Firm. Risk works with all areas of the Firm to aid individual businesses and employees to operate within a clearly defined limit framework for products, clients, and operations.
The Risk Management Department is headed by the Chief Risk Officer and organised into six teams: Market & Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk teams work closely with the business units to identify, assess, monitor and manage risk for their respective risk type. The Risk Analytics and Risk Control teams are responsible for risk analytics, model validation, risk reporting, and limit monitoring across the firm. The Strategic Risk and Prudential Planning team is responsible for developing entity-wide scenario and stress testing.
The role will see the continuation of last year’s flexible program that combined extended stays in some of the Risk teams with ad hoc project work across all the teams. This allowed the work placement students to experience – and develop their skill set across – a wide range of areas.
